Before joining the council, Eveland was chief of staff and a long-time staffer for Congressman Ron Kind (D-Wis., 3rd District). He also served as finance director of the Kind for Congress early in his career.

“As a senior staffer for Congressman Kind, Eveland served as a tax policy advisor during the development of major tax legislation and advised on complex issues such as the administration’s international tax proposals,” NMHC said in its release. “Additionally, he directed the congressman’s legislative, political, and outreach strategies during the passage of major legislation, including the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act.”

Additionally, NMHC has hired two new analysts. Sarah Rahman has joined NMHC as a legislative analyst on the government affairs team and will be focused on energy, environmental and fair housing policies. Noah Fischer will serve as a research analyst on the research team and will be conducting analysis via government data and member surveys to identify apartment market trends.
